The Cultural Arts Program (CAP) is a comprehensive and sequential arts instruction program offering yearlong Saturday classes to students ages 2-18 and adults in a range of art forms that is open to all.

These classes teach students fundamental skills in dance, music, theater, visual arts and martial arts to provide them with an avenue for creative expression and a vehicle for self-knowledge. Class levels range from toddler to advanced.

Current classes include:
Dance African Dance Ballet Hip Hop Dance Modern Dance Theater Acting Toddler Creative Expressions Traditional Music African Djimbe Drum Conga Drum Brazilian Percussion	Contemporary Music Guitar Trap Drum Voice Piano Visual Arts Fashion Design, Sewing and Construction Jewelry Making (beading) Painting, Sketching and Drawing Sculpture Martial Arts Capoeira (Afro Brazilian) Tai Kwon Do

Program Goals
CAP program goals are to:

• Provide artistically excellent arts training to youth;
• Provide youth with a conduit for creative development;
• Increase students’ self-esteem, awareness, and pride in their cultural heritage
• Build teamwork and conflict resolution skills.

Long-range goals for students in the CAP program are to:

• Encourage students to become life-long participants in the arts
• Provide students with a solid technical arts background.

Because of Ifetayo's strong belief that every child should have an opportunity to discover his or her talents, auditions are not held for the Cultural Arts Program. Scholarships and fee waivers are available for eligible returning students.

Academy Uniform and Class Supplies

Students must come to all classes prepared with supplies and in proper uniform attire. All Ifetayo classes require that students bring a pen, 2 pencils and notebook for notes (for students enrolled in multiple classes 3 & 5 subject notebooks are recommended). All class attire is to be within school uniform color code. See below for specific attire for each class.

All Students should have their names in all of their items including ballet slippers, lapas, notebooks, etc.
